I personally own both the shoes, a pair of Converse All Star in white and a Vans Old School in beige color. Both of the shoes are well made and will last a long time. The Chuck Taylor is a bit cheaper than the Old Skool, but the price is not a factor because both the shoes are very affordable. They are not similar in design but both the shoes are made of upper canvas material and rubber soles. Both these pairs are good for the summer and spring seasons too.
Which classic pair should you buy in 2020 if you’re going to only buy one?
First, the Chuck Taylor and Old Skool are both classic and timeless shoes. There are a lot of sneaker trends but these never go out of style and aren’t anytime soon. You can buy any one or both of these amazing shoes at any time in your life.
Both the pairs are super popular since ages but the Vans Old Skool was one of the most popular and trendiest sneaker back in the last decade and especially in the mid-2010s when they were seen everywhere around the world. They remained popular for the next few years until the end of the last decade(2010-2019). Towards the end of the last decade, we saw a slight decrease in the popularity of the Old Skool, as a lot of new sneakers were released, but that doesn’t mean the sneaker isn’t stylish or popular anymore.
If you’re only planning to buy one of the two pairs, there are a few things that have to be taken into consideration.
– If you’re a guy who only wears a low top and no matter what you’re not going to buy high ankle or high top shoes, the Chuck Taylor is not for you.
